Kennel DuckCharmers is situated at the Southern tip of Norway, more precisely in Vanse, Farsund in Vest Agder. We, June Anderson and Odd Grødem got our first toller, Thichas Zuper Gizmo in the fall of 2009 and were instantaneously smitten by the breed, it characteristics and it abilities. Together with Gizmo we quickly became part for the show crowd and got new friends who had the same interest as we did. And it did not take long for us to realise the one Toller was not enough.
Our got second Toller, Quickstep Foxy Nova vom Lech Toller Nest in June 2012. Prior to getting Foxy we had done a lot of research in and outside of Norway, as we already at the point were thinking about staring our own Kennel and with that in mind we were looking for a potential foundation bitch for Kennel DuckCharmers. We wanted to bring in some new blood to Norway and also wanted to have a puppy form a breeder with a strong focus on the working abilities. And that is how we got in touch with Doris and Thomas Hoffman in Gersthofen, Germany. Fortunately we were lucky to get a girl from their wonderful bitch, Nova Bella from Lech-Toller Nest, an amazing working dog who has gone on to produce some amazing offspring.
Foxy came to us on June 1st 2012 8 weeks old and quickly took us all, Gizmo including, by storm. She ha proven herself to be an amazing dog her self, with an enormous passion to work, a huge will to please, speed, bravery, easy to training and just enough independence. She turned out to be everything we hoped for and so much more. She cleared all the health checks and in May 2015 our first litters at DuckCharmers arrived.
In the summer of 2017 DuckCharmers second litter arrived and we where not supposed to keep a girl at home as we had two dogs at home and than was enough. But faith wanted it otherwise and suddenly DuckCharmer Bewitching Honey Bee became a part of our pack. Honey has since proven to be the most wonderful little girl, sweet, quiet, lots of will to please, loves to work and incredibly easy to work and training with. We had not planned to start gun dig competitions with Honey before she was two, but already at 1 year and a week she impressed us so much by becoming Dual Purpose Toller and the Toller Festival in Norway. Beating 16 other dogs. (for more info on her results - see her page)
Odd and I love to train and compete with our dogs, both in gun dog training, blood tracking and rally obedience. We love using our dogs for what they were intended and they love being able to work and enjoy life. We have shown and competed with our dogs both in Norway and abroad. Overall it is the gun dog training that we love the most, and once in a while we are fortunate enough to take our girls on a hunt, however not as often as we would like.
